Treat Cavities & Decayed Teeth

Dental Fillings

Dental fillings are often the best way to treat cavities. The process begins with the removal of any damaged or decayed enamel. Then, Dr. Lascari will use a composite (tooth-colored) or metal filling material to strengthen your tooth and restore its natural shape, size, and appearance.

If you suspect you have a cavity, come in for an appointment right away. The sooner you get help, the more likely it is that you will be able to avoid a more invasive, costly treatment, such as a root canal or dental crown.

Remove Infection

Root Canal Therapy

Root canal therapy is the best way to restore a tooth that’s been infected. If your tooth is severely damaged by a cavity or it’s broken by oral trauma, the living tissue, or pulp, inside of it can become infected by oral bacteria. This causes damage to the nerves and blood vessels inside your tooth, and can cause excruciating pain.

Root canal therapy relieves your pain while preserving your tooth. Dr. Lascari will create an opening in your tooth, remove bacteria and decayed tooth material, and disinfect the tooth. Then, she will fill it and cover it up with a filling or crown to prevent further damage.

Strengthen & Protect

Dental Crowns

Dental crowns are designed to look just like a natural tooth, and are intended to treat seriously damaged or broken teeth. After your enamel has been trimmed, the crown is permanently attached with dental cement, covering up your natural tooth all the way down to the gum line.

A crown may be right for you if you have a broken tooth, a serious cavity, or have recently received a root canal. Crowns can be used for cosmetic purposes if another option like veneers or dental bonding is not suitable.

Durable Smile Restoration

Dental Bridges

Dental bridges use two or more crowns, which are attached to healthy abutment teeth. Between these crowns, one or more false teeth (pontics) can be suspended to replace one or more missing teeth. Bridges are more durable than dentures, will not shift or move, and are a reasonable alternative to dental implants since they are not as costly.

Full & Partial Dentures

We offer both full and partial dentures at Cornerstone Dentistry. Partial dentures are a cost-effective alternative to a dental bridge or dental implant. They consist of one or more teeth, which are added to a strong, thin metal framework or thicker resin (acrylic) framework. The partial clips to your remaining healthy teeth, restoring your smile.

Full dentures are also an option for patients who have lost most or all of their teeth. After your remaining teeth are extracted, your full dentures will fit over your gums, restoring the upper, lower, or both arches of your teeth. The upper denture fits well due to gaining suction by covering the entire palate.  The lower denture is horseshoe-shaped and fits more loosely due to the tongue needing space to move.

If you are interested in a more custom option, you may want to consider mini-dental implants. They will provide stability to the lower denture so you can eat properly and smile with confidence.
